My name is Brittany Hatcher. I graduated from Union Grove High School in 2004. In high school I played on the Varsity softball team for 4 years. As a freshman, I won the Coca-Cola Golden Glove Award. As a sophomore, I won the school's Golden Glove Award. My team made it to the state playoffs my sophomore, junior, and senior year and we came in 3rd place in the state in our division my senior year. I was offered scholarships to continue playing softball in college but chose to focus on my studies instead. I enrolled at Gordon College and started my coursework in the fall of 2004. After 2 years, I transferred to Mercer University. Throughout college, I took all of my classes at night so that I could work during the day. I started as a substitute teacher for Henry County Schools when I was 18, during my second semester of college. This gave me a great idea of what it would be like to teach in a classroom and gave me better experience than any class I could have taken in college. After graduation in 2010, I was offered a job at Union Grove Middle School. I taught 6th grade Social Studies for half a year at Union Grove Middle. I then transferred to Stockbridge Middle School and taught 7th grade math for 2 years. At Stockbridge, I coached the High School softball team my first year, and the middle school softball team my second year. I also sponsored Student Council. Before the 2012-2013 school year, I transferred to Locust Grove High School. I have been here teaching math since then and absolutely love it! This is my 5th year teaching at LGHS and I am very excited to start the new year.
